lyrics
So we form the line,
I tell you I am fine,
Lets just spend some time,
By the riverside,
Your words are gliding by,
They pour through my mind,
I'm fraying at the seams,
You float along with ease
But I am on the edge,
How did I get like this,
Did I get it from my mother,
Maybe thats natural order,
I had planned it all,
I'm on constant recall,
You say thats neurotic,
Well blood runs deep,
But its a sticky night,
A tempting teasing sight,
The river teems with life,
She loves the limelight,
If I could sit and be,
So ordinary,
I might actually,
Be here happily,
But I am on the edge,
How did I get like this,
Did I get it from my mother,
Maybe thats natural order,
I had planned it all,
I'm on constant recall,
You say thats neurotic,
Well blood runs deep,

Like so many others, this came like a bolt out of the blue and, even though it's well before payday, I had to have this astonishing album on vinyl to prove it exists. The feel of the tunes makes me feel like the Impressions do, Curtis Mayfield, the big spaces and instinctive horns and stuff drifting in and out. Great grooves and I can see lots of ghosts nodding along to this with big smiles on their faces. At last! Anthony Cottrell
